![]() Thoughts comments and concerns are welcome. Aside from some 33's and cooling mods, she is otherwise stock. The rest of the exhaust is 2.5" duals with high flow cats, an x pipe and no muffs. Just as a refresher, the truck currently has had a smog pump ectomy and has a set of long tube headers. supposedly it will work with no modifications. I am gong to keep an eye out at my local pull-a-part and begin creating an inventory of computers.Ĭomp offers three cams. I am going to acquire a 360 throttle body and injectors just in case. If I cannot tune the motor via other means, this will be added lastly. If necessary, I may switch back to an actual distributor to provide an adjustable timing curve.Īn afpr will not be added initially, just because of the fabrication requirement. I am going to install and innovate wideband O2 sensor and a vacuum gauge to aid in tuning. the only thing that I am going to leave hooked up is the purge valve. I'm shooting for 9.0:1 compression (stock)Ĭomplete emissions delete. Gasket matched 302 swirlport heads with 360-2 barrel valves. ![]() so the ideas that we have been discussing in this thread will be implemented on the new motor.įor reference, I will give a short list of planned modifications and then use an afpr to fine tune the setup. If i can figure that out, I can use a wideband to match the best set of injectors/throttle body to the cams needs. The 2.2 uses one yellow top 318 injector and the 2.5 uses one blue top 360 injector. Has anybody tried this before? Has anybody decoded the computers? There are about a dozen different chrysler calibrations out there and i would like to figure out there rank by injector pulse width.Īlso, i think i am going to put some feelers out in the turbo dodge community to see what their take is on the situation as the 2.2/2.5 TBI cars used a similar setup to the ramcharger up to and including interchangeable injectors. I am thinking that adding the 360 fuel injectors without a recalibration will make my truck run pig rich and i may have a fuel washing problem. The simplest way that i am seeing to add more fuel to the truck is to adjust base fuel pressure, add 360 injectors/ throttle body and add a 360 computer. They also offer two hotter cams to go with a TBI setup. After this, i am concerned that this may not be the case. 450 lift cam that is not supposed to require computer mods. This is concerning as i am looking to add a cam and roller rockers to this truck. I am thinking that if i hook the egr valve back up with a restriction i may be able to cool the intake charge enough to quell the ping along witha a base timing adjustment. Under medium loads and mildly under heavy loads i am already getting some ping. I put a set of headers and an exhaust with x pipe on my truck. ![]() ![]() I have a 90 ramcharger and am wondering about the feasability of using a similar setup. Its not a perfect setup, but it works and allows tunability for engine safety. In order to get power out of those cars an afpr and wideband to go along witha a tuned computer is a must. ![]()
