![]() ![]() When I let Windows 7 configure the router, it assigned a random password - and now the other machines could connect with that password, but the Windows 7 machine still achieved only a "partial" connection. If I tried to connect without configuring the router through the Windows 7 network utility, it again failed to connect properly. But the Windows 7 XP network utility now told me that the router had not been configured. This happened with WPA/WPA-2 personal security.When I removed the password from the wifi router, other machines could connect with no password. This Windows 7 machine connects without problems to other wifi networks. The network icon shows a connection, but nothing actually works, The troubleshooting utility says nothing. Usually, the network utility says that it was able to achieve only a partial connection. There is also a Broadcom Virtual Wireless adapter, driver version 5.60.48.75). (DW 1501 Wireless-N Half-Mini network card. The problem: A certain Windows 7 Home Premium machine connects inconsistently. GetWin10 App says my Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter (Dell Wireless WLAN 1501 Half Mini-Card Driver) isn't fully compatible with Win 10 and I'll experience connectivity problems on my machine after upgrading. Several Windows XP machines and one Ubuntu machine connect to it successfully. Using the Windows 10 Ookla SpeedTest app on Bell Fibe with the DW1501 card. I sought a WiFi card that has built-in Bluetooth, works in Windows 10 and Linux Mint 20.1, and hopefully is faster. I want it done so I can get help with BIOS passwords.I have a Belkin N150 router. This isnt the fault of its DW1501 WiFi card because the Bluetooth Assembly is separately installed on the front panel, and isnt supported in Windows 10. I need to see how I fared with the Unknown eBay transfer as I didn't get a Dell EMC eMail yet, but since I have my foot in I can wait a month (give or take), call in again and make it happen. Normally I may not fix such an issue when I have 2, but this 2nd one had the W10 upgrade which is a huge deal especially since I need to get a new drive for the first one, install Win7 and then hope it's still available for free. If I can get away without messing with the frame that's even better, but I'm not holding my breath :(. I am not the only N5010 user to noticed this and thus far there seems to be no fix or real solution to this. If it's indiscriminate, I just need to remember to remove the BT module. I have to change the subframe anyway bc someone managed to strip the freaking screw hole the bottom cover uses (beyond repair it kind of holds but the bottom cover is visibly loose and has stayed without manual intervention), so I need to remove it for repairs and maintenance anyway. I think the BIOS is indiscriminate about disabling devices. I also suspect it’s like the ath9k cards where they just do not work well in Windows Yeah. I can probably troubleshoot it, but the spotty 5GHz support is why I’m just going to replace it and not go too far with making it work. Would it be possible to leave the module installed, and just remove the driver so I can change the bad card out or would it be better to disconnect it and cover the wire with Kapton tape so it can’t cause issues? Eventually the module will be removed entirely, but I’m going to wait until I service the cooling system since it isn’t a 10 minute job. Windows update nor windows driver update locates valid drivers. Ive deleted these and reran hardware detect and they both show of again as not having drivers installed. I have an unknown device and a Network Controller flagged in 'Other devices' in Windows Device Manager. Dell QuickSet is saying that the Wifi is turned on but the wireless card is not working. I turned the Wifi on with the F2 button but it still doesnt work. ![]() In the device manager it tells me the driver is installed and that the device is working properly. I’m thinking the best way to deal with this is to change the DW1501 out and disconnect the DW375 module, unless both can coexist as the only way to fully get rid of it is to remove the bottom subframe. WHDPC 1 Card, Wireless, Half Mini-Card, DW1501, 4313. I have all drivers installed and I installed them in the order it was suggested on this forum. I am still going to get the other one going, but this second one is worth keeping around. However, the Intel 7260AC has integrated Bluetooth while the DW375 is a dedicated module as the old Broadcom cards do not have integrated Bluetooth. The wireless card is giving me some trouble and I have a Intel 7260AC I can install from a failed laptop and fix the wireless once and for all. This 2nd one has the DW1501 (BCM94313HMG2L) and DW375 BT module (BCM90270MD). I have another E6220 I ended up getting once I found out how much the batteries and charger cost - which came with what I needed and an extra battery. ![]()
